A domain registration runs for a set period and then has to be renewed. The expiry date is public for many domains, but not all.
A WHOIS or RDAP lookup shows registration details of a domain, often including an expiry date. Many registrars and registries offer such a lookup on their websites.
The registrar where you registered the domain always shows the exact date, together with renewal settings. This is the most reliable source for domains you own. Automatic renewal can usually be switched on there too.
Some registries do not publish the expiry date. For those, only the registrar account, or a tool that reads the registry's data, can show it.
The date is normally given in UTC. Renewal can usually be done well before it, and doing so early leaves time to fix problems with payment.
SSL Domain Detective shows domain registration dates next to certificate dates, in one coloured list. Open SSL Domain Detective
