SSL Domain Detective

Privacy

Your data stays on your phone

A short summary of how the app handles data. The full privacy policy, provided by IT-Recht Kanzlei, follows below it.

🚫

No account, no tracking

The free version does not use a server of ours, cookies, analytics or an advertising network, and it does not read device identifiers. Only if you switch on Pro push alerts does the app contact our server (see below).

📱

Saved on your phone

Your checks and saved headers are stored only on your phone. We receive only what you choose to send us by email, and the Pro push alert data described below if you switch it on.

🔎

Lookups

The app sends the domain names that you add to the public registry service (rdap.org and the registry that it points to) to read the registration date. It also connects to the website of each domain to read its certificate. The app does not send this information to us.

Pro push alerts (only if you switch them on)

To watch your domains while the app is closed, the app sends our server in Germany the domain names you choose to watch (up to 25; these are public names), your iPhone's push token, and your language, time zone and quiet hours. They are stored under a random secret ID that your iPhone creates. We don't receive your name or email address, and we don't keep your IP address. Every 6 hours, our server checks their certificate and their registration expiry. When a certificate has a problem or something is about to run out, it sends you an alert through the Apple Push Notification service (APNs). The data is deleted as soon as you switch alerts off, when your Pro subscription ends, or after 60 days without using the app.

This is the short version. For all the details, please read the full privacy policy below.
