What is PulseX, and how do trades work there?

PulseX is the main decentralised exchange on PulseChain. There is no order book: coins are traded against pools.

Pools instead of an order book

Each pool holds two coins. When you swap one for the other, you trade with the pool, and the balance in it sets the price. There is no seller on the other side.

Price moves with each trade

A trade changes the balance and so the price. A small trade in a large pool barely moves it, while a large trade in a small pool moves it a lot.

Why pool size matters

The price shown for a coin is the pool's current price. If the pool is tiny, you could not sell much at that price.

Where a tracker gets prices

A tracker can read pool balances to find a coin's price and to see whether it can be traded at all. No login is needed for that.

Pulse Totals values your coins by their PulseX pools and leaves out coins without a real one. Open Pulse Totals
