HEX, pHEX and eHEX: what is the difference?

HEX exists on two networks. The names pHEX and eHEX are a way to say which one a person means.

eHEX

This is HEX on Ethereum, where it started in 2019. It is the original. The 'e' stands for Ethereum.

pHEX

When PulseChain launched as a fork of Ethereum, HEX balances were copied. The copy on PulseChain is often called pHEX. The 'p' stands for PulseChain.

Separate networks

A stake on one network does not exist on the other. Each has its own end date, its own penalties and its own reminders. Ending a stake on one chain does not change the other.

Why the names matter

If you hold HEX on both, you have two sets of stakes. Naming them keeps them apart and avoids missing a date on the less-used chain. The names are a habit of the community, not an official label. That makes reminders more reliable.

Pulse Totals lists the stakes on PulseChain, and with Include Ethereum on, the eHEX stakes as well. Open Pulse Totals
