Most domain trouble comes from a handful of records and dates that change quietly. Six of them are worth watching.
Name servers decide who answers for the domain, and mail servers decide where email arrives. A change in either affects everything that depends on the domain.
These two records tell receivers whether your email is trusted. If one is edited or removed, your email may start landing in spam. Both are plain text records in DNS, easy to overwrite during an edit.
The website certificate has an end date, and an error appears as soon as it passes. It can also develop an error before then.
The domain itself expires on a fixed date. Missing it can take the website and email offline. A renewal reminder from the registrar is only one safeguard.
Domain Night Watch checks all six every 6 hours and alerts you to changes. Open Domain Night Watch
