Tips › Website check

When should you run a website check again?

A website check shows the state at one moment. The state can change without anyone touching your site, so it helps to know when to look again.

After changes

A new design, a change of hosting, a new email provider or a DNS edit can each break something quietly. A check right afterwards finds it early. That includes small changes.

When something is due

Certificates and domain registrations have end dates. A check shortly before them shows whether renewal worked.

When a tool is added

A new newsletter tool, shop or contact form sends email for you. It should be on your SPF record and be able to sign messages.

A regular look

A look every few months catches what slipped through. Pick a date, such as the start of a quarter, and keep to it. Keep the result, and you can see what has changed.
