Many prompts start with 'Act as an expert in …'. It can change the tone of the answer, but it does not add knowledge the tool does not have.
A role can steer vocabulary and style. 'You are a careful editor' tends to produce tighter text than no role at all. That is a matter of style, not of facts.
It does not make the tool more accurate. A role does not turn a guess into a fact. Facts still deserve a check.
Say who the text is for, what the task is and what a good result looks like. These tell the AI what to produce, which a label alone does not.
A short role line can sit on top of the four questions. If you have to choose, keep the questions.
Our free page 'How to prompt better' has a copyable template for the four questions: goal, background, limits and done when. Open How to prompt better
