When an AI tool answers vaguely, the request was usually vague too. The tool has to guess what you meant, and it guesses the most common version.
If you do not say who the text is for, it assumes a general audience. If you do not name a length or tone, it picks a typical one.
It does not know your situation, your colleagues or what you tried before. Anything that is clear to you but absent from the prompt is missing to the AI.
Add the missing pieces: the goal, the background, the limits and what a good result looks like. Even two extra sentences change the answer.
Some topics are thin in the AI's knowledge, or the question has no clear answer. A more specific prompt can still narrow it down.
Our free page 'How to prompt better' has a copyable template for the four questions: goal, background, limits and done when. Open How to prompt better
