Loan liquidation: which collateral levels matter

A loan on PulseChain is backed by collateral, and if the collateral ratio falls too far, the loan can be liquidated. On Liquid Loans, Powercity and INCD, that point is 110 percent.

What the ratio means

The collateral ratio compares the value of what you locked up with what you borrowed. A ratio of 200 percent means the collateral is worth twice the loan. When the price of the collateral falls, the ratio falls with it.

Why 110 percent is too late to start

Under 110 percent, the loan can be liquidated. The closer a loan gets, the less room there is to react. A warning only helps if it arrives earlier.

Levels that give you time

Pulse Lifeline warns at 200, 175, 150, 140, 130, 125 and 120 percent. Below 115 percent, warnings are critical: they ignore quiet hours and repeat every hour.

When a loan is gone

The app also tells you once when a loan disappears, because it was repaid, closed or liquidated.
