When an answer is close but not right, a follow-up message is usually faster than starting again. The AI keeps what it has in the conversation.
The answer is near. Say what to change: shorter, a different tone, drop the second point, add an example. The AI works from what it already wrote.
'Make it better' gives little to work with. 'Shorten to three sentences and remove the apology' tells it exactly what to do.
If the conversation has wandered or the AI keeps repeating an earlier mistake, a new chat with a better first prompt may be cleaner.
Take the useful parts of the earlier prompt into the new one. An improved first message often saves several rounds.
